RXR-MC80BD Explosion-Proof Fire Extinguishing Robot, IP65
The RXR-MC80BD is an explosion-proof fire extinguishing robot certified for reconnaissance and fire fighting inside explosive atmospheres, including refining units, oil and fuel gas storage and chemical manufacturing sites. It replaces the crew at the point where an ignition source or a vapour cloud would stop a person. The platform carries a remote monitor and a control panel, and it is rated IP65 for washdown and wet service.
The track surface is covered with heat tolerant, flame retardant rubber over a metal frame, so the robot can sit in hot debris without losing the belt. Traction is rated to drag two 60 m lengths of 80 mm hose filled with water. A hose anti-knotting function keeps the supply line open when the unit turns, and a double water curtain sprays the body to hold temperature down.
The monitor rotates and pitches under remote control and switches between water and foam without a manual change, which matters when the operator works from a distant panel. High definition wireless video carries the view back in real time, and the radio link is chosen for long range and interference rejection in congested plants. The orange body aids recovery and identification.
